Dear PPS Community,

As we head into the weekend, we continue to work with the state mediator to settle our contract with the Portland Association of Teachers (PAT).

PAT and the district also still have to work out a plan for making up the lost instructional time, but we intend to return students to class before that is fully resolved, if needed.

We cannot possibly say it enough: we want students back in school as soon as possible. We will update you tomorrow to share our progress.
