Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference the lives of young people in Portland?

GEAR UP provides meaningful work for PPS alums and is hiring Near Peer Mentors (NPMs) for the 2024-25 school year. NPMs can work in collaboration with interested teachers across the nine comprehensive high schools and the Alliance @ Meek campus. NPMs work closely with their partner teacher, infusing the classroom with college and career readiness activities, modeling positive student engagement, and enriching classroom content with their own lived experience.

If you are attending college locally and want to serve as a mentor, application information is below. We are beginning interviews as early as June 3rd.
