I hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to deepen understanding in our community about the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. The History Department has partnered with the Center for Public Secrets in Tulsa, with co-sponsorship from the Black Studies Department in SGRN, to bring forward a series of events and resources to mark the centennial year of the atrocity. Coming right up is a zoom panel called "The Burning of Greenwood: Voices from Then and Now" scheduled for October 20th. As you might know, the hearing was held just last week in Tulsa that will determine whether a legal case for accountability and reparations for the survivors, victims, and their descendants will go forward. This history is now.
